Auron | The Boss

Introduction

This YuuriVoice original character debuted on July 22nd, 2021, in what would retroactively become the first episode of Shattered. In the design stage he was referred to as "the glasses character", and evolved into a play on the ever so popular "dominant CEO" archetype. He is connected to the events of BitterSweet, where his double life as the head of a crime syndicate leaves him dealing with Derek's failures at the street level. He is also heavily referenced in Lost & Found due to his connection with Charlie.

Background & Traits

Auron is an imaginative, romantic, creative writer who discarded many of his pursuits when he inherited his step-father's company...and the secret organized crime syndicate that has been in the family for generations. When he meets the legal department's latest hire, Rook, they find him cold and stern, but not without his charm. When that charm leads them down the path towards HR nightmares and spicy encounters around the office, they begin to form a connection that runs far deeper than the flesh.

Rook becomes the first person he allows himself to get close to in years, having mostly severed his connections with the people in his life to shield them from the criminal nature of the family business. Trish, his secretary, was his childhood nanny and friend to his mother. Faust, his step-brother, resents Auron for being so distant after inheriting his biological father's company. Those sacrifices came easily enough, and in time, he grew content with the distance.

But with Rook it's so much harder to stay away, to keep them just outside of his walls where it's safe. Over time he finds himself utterly smitten with Rook, and any hope he had of keeping things casual far beyond reach.

The Family Business

In the daylight Auron is the CEO of a wide reaching entertainment company that not only manages talent across film, sports, and beyond, but has significant stakes in various platforms and leagues. Endeavor has been referenced as a real world comparison. Rook is a member of the legal department that directly handles contract language for clients, businesses, and other properties, among other responsibilities.

Beneath the surface Auron is the kingpin of a crime syndicate that has been in his family for an undetermined amount of time. He ideally would have very little involvement in the day to day operations of the drug trafficking that Derek's gang is in charge of in the city, but when Derek comes up short on the money they should be earning Auron finds himself having to get his hands dirty.

Following the events of BitterSweet Chapter 3 he is a distant friend of Charlie, and Jessie directly answers to him as Derek's replacement heading up distribution in the city. He is vaguely familiar with the BitterSweet trio, but only had a conversation with Alphonse over the phone.

Old Hobbies Die Hard

There is one personal hobby that has stuck with Auron from his youth. For as long as he can remember, he's entertained his imagination and written short stories, fanfiction, and more. While the time he has to pursue those interests is minimal, he does set aside time to explore that old hobby of his.

Some theorize that the AU story Forbidden Fruit where Auron and Rook are cast as a vampire lord and vampire hunter is actually a short story written by him in canon. There are also murmurings that Charlie has been his beta reader on occasion...but Auron would never confess to these things.
