Jessie | The Smokin' Mama
Introduction
This YuuriVoice original character debuted on July 19th, 2021 in the BitterSweet Chapter 3 premiere, and was finally heard as voiced by Thooluu on September 6th, 2021. However, she can be heard calling out to Charlie earlier, in episode 3. Jessie is Seth's mother, and ex girlfriend of Derek.
Background & Traits
While Jessie's southern charm disarms just about anyone she meets, her past is littered with questionable decisions ranging from the men she dates to the many broken promises left in her wake. She left Seth's father when Seth was still a child, presumably due to how rotten the relationship became. Leaving Seth with an angry drunk was certainly a choice, and she acknowledges it.
In BitterSweet Chapter 3, it is revealed that she not only was aware of Derek's criminal acts, she was an active participant. Her active undermining of Derek's dealings brought about the involvement of Seth, Alphonse, and Boo.
Despite Seth's best efforts to leave a light on in his heart for her, Jessie's constant selfishness weathers their bond to such a state that it seems no amount of love could nurture it back to life.
In an attempt to make one massive, selfless choice, Jessie takes it upon herself to deal with Derek for good and take his place working for Auron. She binds herself to a life of crime with blood on her hands, and sends the trio on their way to live a better life than the one she leads.
Those boys love you somethin' fierce, and it don't have to mean nothing other than y'all are family. Or maybe it's something more than that. But I know damn well you didn't come this far not realizing that boy loves you too.
